Hiya! Welcome to our cosy studio where we sit across from one another, laptops at an angle, hot beverages in hand. Since February of this year, our studio has moved into a recently renovated building in East London. We’re excited to have our first physical space together, somewhere for our ideas and future community to have a home.
As a recently initiated project we have been developing what it means to grow into a shared environment, to settle into new routines, a community and work through interior design challenges. On that front we have settled for a ‘DIY cosy italian-modernism’ vibe, with lots of snacks. We’re especially proud of our shared trestle desk, built from a few very kind donations and some brilliant dimension eyeballing on our part.
As a collaboration, our main interest is exploring the multidimensions between the curatorial and food. In our new space, we want to create a meeting point between the dynamic social, cultural, and economical systems with the conceptual, historical to contemporary, and interactive practices of art.
We use our studio space for brainstorming, making, and sometimes tasting. We’re currently working on some long term research strands, such as Food and the Feminist Still Life, that we aim to develop into exhibitions; several short term ones including a self funded donation recipe Cookbook. We are also looking forward to planning future pop-up events, where we might show off some of our own baking skills.
We love to host our friends and curious minds, if you’d like to meet us get in touch and we can arrange a chat over tea, coffee, or a bagel.
